Keiko Iris Yamada is a pianist and a painter. She beautifully incorporates music and art into her ministry, seeking to nourish people’s souls with beauty.
Having to plant herself in various different countries, she has repeatedly experienced the reality of how art and music speaks beyond cultural borders and languages. As Third Culture Kid/Adult (people who grew up in a multi-cultural context before/during their teenage years), she was molded and shaped by various cultures. She was born and raised in Japan, spent all of her teen years in Canada and the States, and later moved to China, where she spent majority of her 20s. All her music and art reflects the unique blend of her cultural experiences, curiosity and creativity. This is most apparent when she coordinates her own concert in various themes chosen. She has been coordinating various forms of concerts in English, Japanese and Chinese at various locations around the globe, mainly US and Japan.
She completed her B.M. in Piano Performance in California State University, Fullerton. Soon after obtaining her B.M., she joined CRU as a full time staff doing campus ministry, city ministry, and music/art ministry in various nations including US, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. In 2018, she also earned a Master in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care degree at Talbot Seminary (Biola University).
She has been back in Japan since May 2020, actively sharing her art and music starting from Hyogo prefecture.
