SEARCHING FOR REST?
"Spiritual direction helps me to slow down in my busy life and to see where God is..."
what is spiritual direction?
The Christian life often entails times of spiritual uncertainty—situations in which we are unsure of God’s will, confused about what God is doing in our circumstances, or generally dry in our relationship with God. Spiritual direction is a safe place to explore your questions and concerns about your life with God.
A Christian spiritual director is a trained listener who will accompany you as you share about your spiritual journey, helping you to notice God’s presence and activity along the way, as well as your personal reactions and responses. Hospitable, confidential, and grounded in biblical truth, spiritual direction is a ministry that helps you grow in prayer and live into your calling as a follower of Christ. (copied from ESDA)
Who is spiritual director?
As a spiritual director, I will be your spiritual companion, walking alongside you to see what God is doing in your life. During spiritual direction, we intentionally slow down our pace in order to find God in all things. It is important for you to be reminded that spiritual direction is distinct from other helping ministries, such as mentoring, coaching, psychotherapy, pastoral counseling or life coaching. Otherwise, it may proceed differently from your expectation. Rather than extending advice, teaching or a solution, director is trained to listen, to hold, and to come along side you to discover God’s unique work in your own life, and to discover yourself as His beloved in all circumstances. !

for those who are considering...
As there are seasons within the nature, there are different seasons that our soul goes through. As a spiritual director, my heart is to come along side people living in various different seasons of their life. I especially love providing a space for people who are weary and heavy laden, where their souls can be cared for, listened to, and accompanied. I also enjoy cultivating a space of rest by providing beauty through art and music.
I grew up in a third-culture context while living in multiple countries such as Japan, Canada, the United States, and China. This unique upbringing has trained me to see things outside of the box, and to be sensitive with how our culture can affect us.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Music in piano performance, I served for nearly 2 years as a full-time campus minister with missions organizations in the States, and also for 7 years as a missionary overseas. It is one of my deepest passions to see people not just survive in the unique contexts that God has placed them, but to flourish and thrive.
As a result of going through several difficult seasons of ministry, I was drawn to spiritual formation. I was attracted to understanding how people actually grow in their spiritual journeys, and how I can be part of God’s transforming work in their lives. After graduating in May 2018 with a MA in Spiritual Formation & Soul Care at Talbot School of Theology (Biola University), I am currently offering spiritual direction as a Spiritual Director to a wide range of people both individually and in groups. Concurrently, I serve in a church as a music director. Also, I have been traveling across the country performing through music and art ministry.
However long God has appointed me as your spiritual director, I am eager to walk along side you, and to seek Him together in marvelous work that He is already doing in you.
